La principal compañía de lácteos de Arabia Saudita indicó que esta semana estará comprando la estancia argentina Fondomonte por 83 millones, para asegurarse el suministro de materias primas. La compra dará a la compañía Almarai, con base en Riad, el control de unas 30 mil hectáreas en la nación sudamericana, justo antes de que Argentina limite seriamente el acceso de tierras productivas a los inversores del exterior. Almarai dijo que esto sintoniza con la política del reino saudita de "garantizar el suministro y conservar los recursos locales".

THE ALMARAI COMPANY, OF SAUDI ARABIA, WILL BUY THE ARGENTINE FARM FONDOMONTE  

The main Saudi Arabian dairy company said this week that they will be buying the Argentine farm Fondomonte for US$ 83 millions, in order to secure needed raw produce. The acquisition will give Almarai corporation based in Riad control of some 30,000 hectares in the South American nation, just before Argentina sets harsh limits to the access of productive lands to foreign investors. Almarai said that this move coincides with the Saudi Kingdom’s policy of “guaranteing supplies, saving local resources”.
