CHINA ELIMINA PLANTAS DE
CARBÓN Y APUESTA POR LAS ENERGÍAS RENOVABLES (extracto

“Según declaraciones recientes del gobierno de Pekín, en un
esfuerzo por cumplir el objetivo de reducir el uso de combustibles fósiles,
China cancelará la construcción de entre 85 y 100 plantas de carbón que tenía
planificadas. En cambio, invertirán miles de millones de yuanes en fuentes de
energía renovables.”
La agencia prevé una gran inversión en instalación de infraestructuras, que les permitan aprovechar otras fuentes, poniendo énfasis en el aprovechamiento de la energía solar, eólica e hidroeléctrica, entre otras energías renovables. Según sus estimaciones la mitad de la capacidad de toda la nueva generación de electricidad para 2020 provendrá de la explotación de las energías renovables, que además de no contaminar crearán alrededor de 13 millones de puestos de trabajo.
Este nuevo anuncio coincide con la imagen que el gigante
asiático quiere asumir de la “Nueva China”, sensible a los problemas del Cambio
Climático y orientada hacia un futuro más limpio, dado que en la actualidad es
el país que más de gases de efecto invernadero produce en todo el mundo.
Por otra parte, China ha visto como otras potencias se alejan
del carbón como fuente de energía, circunstancia que se suma a la firma del
acuerdo de París a finales de 2015, que el gobierno ratificó el año pasado y
que ha llevado a la nación a comenzar a disminuir su dependencia de este
combustible fósil, que es uno de los más contaminantes.
En vez de ello el país se ha embarcado en un frenesí de
construcción de infraestructuras para el aprovechamiento de la energía eólica,
erigiendo alrededor de dos turbinas por hora, una cifra récord a nivel mundial
No conformes con ello, también está invirtiendo fuertemente en otras energías
renovables no sólo dentro de sus fronteras, sino también en el extranjero,
ejemplo de ello es el parque de energía solar, que se está construyendo en las
ruinas de Chernóbil.

Mientras en los EEUU
el nuevo presidente está empeñado no solo en ignorar el cambio climático - apoyado
por muchos científicos y rechazado por otros muchos – sino amenazando con denunciar el Acuerdo de Paris 2015, China
no solo que continúa apoyando el Acuerdo, sino que está llevando a cabo enormes
proyectos de energías renovables para garantizarlo.

“According to recent declarations of Beijing’s
government, China, in an effort to reduce the use of fossil fuels, will cancel the
construction of between 85 and 100 coal plants that had been planned. Instead
of this, they will invest thousands of millions of yuans in renewable energy
sources”.
The Agency foresees a great investment in the installation of infrastructures in order to profit from other energy sources, emphasizing solar, eolic and hydroelectric plants, as well as other renewable energy sources. According to estimations half the capacity of any new electricity generation plants by 2020 will come from renewable energies that will not only avoid contamination but will create some 13 million new jobs.
These news coincide with the image
that the Asiatic Giant will project of the “New China”, sensitive to the problems of the Climate Change and oriented
towards a clean future, considering that as of today it is the country that
produces the most greenhouse gases in the world.
On the other hand, China saw how
other world powers do away coal as energy source, adding to the 2015 Paris
Agreement - that the Chinese government ratified last year leading the nation
to begin to diminish its dependency on such fossil fuel, one of the worst
contaminants of the environment.
The country launched itsef to a franctic
building of new infrastructures for the use of eolic energy, setting up about
two turbins every hour, a record at world level. They are also investing
strongly in other renewable energies not only within their frontiers but also
abroad. For example, the solar energy park being built over the ruins of
Chernobil.

While in the US the new President is trying not only tp ignore the climate
change – supported by may scientists and refuted by many others – but he is threatening
to denounce the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement, China not only continues to
support the Agreement but is carrying on enormous projects of renewable
energies in order to guarantee it .
