GALÁPAGOS: PRIMER AEROPUERTO SUSTENTABLE

ECUADOR TIENE EL PRIMER AEROPUERTO ECOLÓGICO DEL PLANETA (Ecoticias, newsletter@ecoticias.com¸21/07/2015)

El ochenta por ciento de las instalaciones  del aeropuerto Seymour situado en la isla de Baltra, en el archipiélago de las islas Galápagos en Ecuador, han sido creadas a través de materiales reciclados y además cuentan con su propia planta de desalinización para aprovechar el agua marina. Jorge Rocillo, director de las instalaciones, digo que: "Lo más importante es que es un edificio sostenible", nos cuenta. "Es público y capaz de utilizar la última tecnología y ofrecer un adecuado confort a los pasajeros sin contaminar el medio ambiente. Ese es el legado que queremos dejar".

El aeropuerto Seymour tiene conexiones directas con Quito y Guayaquil. El archipiélago de Galápagos es una de las reservas naturales más importantes del mundo y el lugar que inspiró a Charles Darwin para elaborar su teoría de la evolución. Cada año recibe a 200.000 turistas.

ECUADOR HAS THE WORLD’S FIRST ECOLOGIC AIRPORT (Ecoticias, newsletter@ecoticias.com¸21/07/2015)

Eighty percent of the facilities of Seymour Airport, located in Baltra Island, Galapagos Archipielago in Ecuador, have been built with recycled materials. It also has its own water desalinization in order to use sea water. Jorge Rocillo, director of the facilities, said that: “The most important thing is that it is a sustainable building.It is public and with adequate confort for travelers, without contaminating the environment. It is the gift that we want to leave for posterity”.

Seymour airport has direct connections with Quito and Guayaquil. The Galapagos archipielago is one of the world’s most important natural reserves. It was the place that inspired Charles Darwin to develop his theory of evolution. It receives 200,000 tourists each year.
