VIENTO EN LA PATAGONIA

ENERGÍA EÓLICA EN ARGENTINA (English version below: WIND ENERGY IN ARGENTINA)

Después de mucho tiempo ARGENTINA decidió  generar energía no convencional de fuentes eólicas aprovechando el viento permanente e inagotable de la Patagonia.

Hace varios años que se anunció lo que se suponía iba a ser “el mayor parque eólico del mundo”, cosa que solo quedó en anuncios, en lugar de conseguir las inversiones necesarias para aprovechar los vientos que en la Patagonia son no solo intensos sino también constantes. El nuevo gobierno decidió ir concretando un proyecto en energía eólica para solucionar la crisis energética del país aprovechando fuentes internacionales de capital.

Una reciente noticia publicada por ECOTICIAS (*) comenta que el “proyecto contribuirá a la diversificación de la matriz energética en Argentina y desplazará 245.311 toneladas de dióxido carbono equivalente por año, apoyando al país a lograr su meta de generar un 30 por ciento de su energía de fuentes renovables no tradicionales”.

Dice la noticia que “la Corporación Interamericana de Inversiones (CII), actuando en nombre del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID), otorgó un préstamo sindicado de US$200 millones a YPF Energía Eléctrica S.A. en Argentina para la construcción, operación y mantenimiento del parque eólico Manantiales Behr de 100 MW y sus instalaciones conexas”.

El proyecto incluye una línea de transmisión de 132 kV y 20 km, está situado a unos 40 km al noreste de la ciudad de Comodoro Rivadavia.

“La CII lideró la estructuración financiera del proyecto, la cual consiste de un préstamo de US$100 millones a 9 años y un préstamo de $100 millones a 6 años. Los bancos participantes son BBVA, Banco Santander y Citibank”.

WIND ENERGY IN ARGENTINA

After a long delay ARGENTINA  decided to generate non conventional energy from eolic sources profiting of the wind that in Patagonis is not only strong but continuous.

Several years ago it was announced what it was going to be the “largest eolic park in the world”, something that never got beyond the announcements. The new government decided to do something about looking for the necessary investments which are not small.

A recent news published by EOTICIAS (*) comments that the “Project will contribute to the diversification of Argentina’s energy matrix, saving 245.311 equivalent tons of carbon dioxyde per year, helping the country to meet the target of 30% of its energy from non traditional renewable sources

Says the news that "the Corporación Interamericana de Inversiones (Interamerica Investments Corporation - CII),acting in the name of the Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (Interamerican Development Bank - BID), awarded a US$200 million syndicated loan to YPF Energía Eléctrica S.A. in Argentina for the construction, operatio0n and maintnance of the Manantiales Behr eolic park of 100 MW, as well as the related facilities”.  

The Project, that includes a 132 kV and 20 km distribution electric line, is located 40 km NE of Comodoro Rivadavia city. The “CII led the financial structuring of the Project through a US$ 100 million 9 year loan and a US $100 million 6 year loean. Participating banks are BBVA, Banco Santander and Citibank”.
