BACTERIA HELPS IN THE PLANET'S SUSTAINABILITY
A TYPE OF BACTERIA CAN FEED IN METHANE AND OTHER GREENHOUSE GASES.
Its absorption capacity of
methane and other greenhouse gases could help fighting climate change.

A BACTERIA COULD ABSORB GASES BEFORE THEIR EMISSION AND MAY BE A
SOLUTION TO GLOBAL WARMING. (from an article sent by ECOTICIAS.COM / RED / AGENCIAS, 29/04/2014)
The results published
this Monday in “Nature” show how a single bacteria, 'Methylocella silvestris',
found in soil and other environments in the whole world can grow both in
methane and propane in natural gas..
The bacteria could absorb gas emissions of, natural origin as well as
those generated by man before they are liberated into the atmosphere causing
global warming, according to a new research in East Anglia University, Norwich,
Norfolk, England..
The finding could help mitigating the natural
emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere from human activitie, such as
hydraulic fracking to produce non conventional gas or in oil spillings.
The researchers studied the bacteria a
'Methylocella' normally found in peat, the tundra, and forest soils in Nothern Europe.
It was also found after the “Deepwater Horizon” oil spilling in 2010. The
authors of this work measured the bacteria’s ability to grow in methane and other
gases.
