Enorme movilización en
Berlín contra la agricultura industrializada y en favor de los pequeños
agricultores, informa el servicio noticioso Organic-Market.info (1).
La gigantesca
movilización crítica de la agricultura industrializada que tuvo lugar durante
la Semana Verde Internacional en Berlin, Alemania, ya es un evento regular. Por
sexta vez más de 100 organizaciones de la agricultura, la apicultura, la
conservación de la naturaleza, el bienestar animal, la protección del
consumidor, la ayuda para el desarrollo y el segmento de los alimentos
artesanales se congregaron para una significativa demostración.
Unas 23.000
personas respondieron al llamado y el sábado 16 de enero del 2016 se congregaron bajo el lema “Granjas en lugar
de agricultura industrializada – no hay futuro sin los pequeños productores”,
demandando una revolución orgánica para la agricultura. Otros temas expuestos
fueron la seguridad alimentaria y los controvertidos acuerdos de libre comercio
como el TTIP (Socios para el Comercio y
la Inversión Transatlántica) y el CETA (Acuerdo
de Libre Comercio de la Comunidad Europea). Los 130 tractores – 40 más que
el año pasado – constituyeron una vista impresionante.
El bienestar
animal y la agricultura orgánica fueron dos de los temas importantes en la movilización.
La agricultura debe irse apartando de las grandes unidades industrializadas
para favorecer, en cambio, a los pequeños productores que sienten amor por su
tierra, sus animales y sus semejantes, tendiendo hacia un sistema de equilibrio
dinámico con la naturaleza y la sociedad.
En un número
de presentaciones auxiliares se subrayó la necesidad de los alimentos sanos y
el conocimiento del verdadero costo de los alimentos no orgánicos cuando se
incluyen las externalidades en su costo, y se insistió en la necesidad de dar
información veraz a los consumidores.

mobilization in Berlin against industrial agriculture and in favor of small farming and organic agriculture, reported by

The big demo against industrial agriculture that took
place during the International Green Week in Berlin has become a regular event.
For the sixth time, over 100 organisations from agriculture, beekeeping, nature
conservation, animal welfare, consumer protection, development aid and the
artisan food segment called for a demonstration.
Around 23,000 people responded and, on Saturday 16
January 2016 under the motto “Farms instead of industrial agriculture – no
future without farmers“, they demanded an organic turnaround in agriculture.
Other issues were food security and the controversial free trade agreements
TTIP (Transatlantic
Trade and Investment Partnership) and CETA (Common European Trade Agreement). The
130 tractors - 40 more than last year - were an impressive sight.
Animal welfare and organic agriculture were two of the
big issues in the mobilization. Agriculture must move from big industrialized
units to the small farmers that care for the land, his animals and his fellow
human beings, and look forward to a system of dynamic equilibrium with nature
and society.
A number of side presentations pointed out to the need
of healthy food and the true cost of non-organic food when externalities are
included in its cost, and underscored
the need of straight information to the consumer.
