organización de investigación de mercado (*) pronostica un brillante futuro para
el mercado de alimentos y bebidas orgánicas en el mundo en el periodo 2014-2020.
Un reciente estudio por Grand View
Research, Inc. indica que el Mercado de
los alimentos y bebidas orgánicas crecerá un 15,5% CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate = crecimiento
annual medio promedio compuesto) durante el período 2014 al 2020 (período
pronosticado) según Medgadget (un medio independiente de doctores e ingenieros biomédicos).
El estudio también estima que el Mercado alcanzará US$ 212 mil millones
hacia el fin de ese período. Esto puede atribuirse a la conciencia saludable respecto
del consumo de alimentos y bebidas no orgánicos cargados de antibióticos,
pesticidas, etc. dañinos para la salud humana. Por el contrario, los alimentos
y bebidas orgánicas son no tóxicos y amigables al medio ambiente. Así, su
demanda creció un 10% desde el 2007.
Sin embargo, existen grandes diferencias de precios entre los productos orgánicos
y los no orgánicos. Más aún, los
productos orgánicos tienen una vida de mostrador más corta. Aún así, el futuro
luce brillante para el mercado de los alimentos y bebidas orgánicas,
parcialmente debido al apoyo gubernamental (en los países desarrollados).
Más de ciento sesenta países en el mundo practican la agricultura orgánica.
El Mercado norteamedricano de los alimentos y bebidas orgánicas casi alcanzó la
mitad del mercado mundial, siendo seguido por Europa con una participación del
44% en el mismo año. La región de Asia-Pacífico será la de más rápido
crecimiento en el futuro cercano. El mercado mundial
es fragmentado y altamente competitivo.

ORGANIC MARKET
Market research organization (*) forecasts a brilliant future in the
2014-2020 period for organic foods and beverages in the world.
A recent study by Grand View Research, Inc. observes the organic food & beverages market
to grow at about 15.5 % CAGR during 2014 to 2020 (forecast period), according
to Medgadget.
The study also estimates the market to fetch around USD 212
million by the end of the said period. This may be attributed to health
awareness regarding the consumption of inorganic food & beverages.
Inorganic foods are loaded with antibiotics, pesticides, etc and injurious to
human health. Conversely, organic food & beverages are non-toxic and
environment-friendly. Therefore, their demand has risen by 10% since 2007.
However, huge price differences exist between organic and inorganic products.
Moreover, organic ones have limited shelf life. Yet, the future looks bright
for the organic food & beverages market. This is partly due to governmental
support favoring these products.
More than one hundred and sixty nations across the
world are engaged in organic farming. The North American organic food &
beverages market, with close to half of the total revenues dominated in 2013.
Europe followed the former and captured around 44% share that year. Asia
Pacific will be the fastest-growing region in the near future. The global
market is highly fragmented and very competitive.
