Están
en todos lados. Y nos están enfermando a nosotros y especialmente a nuestros
niños.
Dos nuevos estudios publicados esta semana revelan cuán
perniciosos son los pesticidas en nuestro ambiente, y cómo están haciendo
estragos en nuestra salud.
En el Reino Unido, el Institute
of Science in Society (Instituto de Ciencias en la Sociedad) emitió un informe
titulado: Porqué el Glifosato Debería ser Prohibido, ingrediente principal de
Roundup, que ha contaminado tierra, agua, aire y nuestra provisiónde alimentos,
y expresa que los niveles máximos permitidos de Glifosato crecerán de 100 a 150
veces en la Unión Europea si Monsanto se sale con la suya.
Otro estudio por la Pesticide Action Network North America (Red Norteamericana
de Acción contra los Pesticidas - PAN) informa que más de 500 millones de kilos
de insecticidas usados anualmente en todo el país contribuyeron a crear una
gran cantidad de problemas en los jóvenes, incluyendo autismo, cáncer, defectos
de nacimiento, pubertad anticipada, obesidad, diabetes y asma.

NEW
STUDIES HIGHLIGHT INCREASING DANGERS OF PESTICIDES (from an article in

They’re
everywhere. And they’re making us – and especially our kids – sick.
Two new
studies out this week reveal just how pervasive pesticides are in our
environment, and how they are wreaking havoc with our health.
In the
UK, the Institute of Science in Society issued a report titled: Why Glyphosate
Should Be Banned. Glyphosate, the key ingredient in Monsanto's Roundup, has
contaminated land, water, air, and our food supply, according to the report,
which says the maximum permitted levels of Glyphosate are set to rise by100-150
times in the European Union if Monsanto gets its way.
Another
study, by the Pesticide Action Network North America, reports that more than 1
billion pounds of pesticides used annually nationwide have contributed to an
array of health problems in youth, including autism, cancer, birth defects,
early puberty, obesity, diabetes and asthma.
