Es la  primera norma jurídica para proteger el medio ambiente.
El presidente de Bolivia, Evo Morales, ha promulgado este lunes la Ley de la Madre Tierra y Desarrollo Integral para Vivir Bien, la primera norma jurídica que se aprueba en el país andino para proteger el medio ambiente y los recursos naturales.
En un acto celebrado en el Palacio de Gobierno, en La Paz, el mandatario ha explicado que el objetivo del texto legal es garantizar “la explotación de los recursos naturales en el marco del respeto a la naturaleza”, especialmente cuando se trata de recursos naturales no renovables.

It is the first Bolivian legal norm to protect the environment.
Bolivia’s President, Evo Morales, sanctioned on Monday the Madre Tierra Law (Mother Earth Law) and the Integral Development  to Live Well, the first juridic norm approved in the Andean country to protect the environment and the natural resources.
In the presentation at the Governmental Palace in La Paz, the president explained that the objective of the legal text is to guarantee “the exploitation of the natural resources within a framework of respecto for Nature”, specially in relation to the non renewable natural resources.
