SOLMACC – una iniciativa
sobre estrategias para el manejo agrícola orgánico
y de bajos insumos para mitigar y adaptarse al cambio climático – es un proyecto cofinanciado por LIFE (2) es una
iniciativa sobre agricultura orgánica y de bajos insumos para mitigar y
adaptarse al cambio climático, que se desarrollará del 2013 al 2018. Su
objetivo es demostrar que las prácticas orgánicas optimizadas pueden ser
amigables al clima. SOLMACC acaba de publicar su primer newsletter.
Doce granjas demostrativas están ajustando sus técnicas agrícolas bajo supervisión y monitoreo de científicos agrícolas. El consorcio del proyecto ha diseñado prácticas individuales para cada una de las doce granjas a comenzar durante el otoño del 2014. Se investigará la situación inicial en 2014 (secuestro de carbono, evitar emisiones de CO2) comparándola con los resultados que se vayan a obtener hasta el 2018. Las prácticas a aplicarse son el reciclado en el predio de nutrientes, rotaciones de cultivos, arado de intensidad reducida y agroforestería. Las granjas están ubicadas en tres regiones climáticas diferentes en perfiles productivos. Lo que las reúne en un cuerpo es que son operadas por agricultores innovadores y con coraje motivados para contribuir en la lucha contra el cambio climático.

Lantbrukarna, AIAB, Bioland Beratung GmbH y FiBL proveerán el expertise esencial al proyecto. En una reunión del comité de dirección del proyecto SOLMACC en Freising, Alemania, se compartieron las experiencias e
impresiones de las visitas a las granjas probando que todos los productores
están altamente comprometidos en el uso de sus granjas para la demostración de

SOLMACC - an initiative
on strategies for organic and low-input-farming to mitigate and adapt to
climate change - is aLIFE-co-funded project that runs from 2013 to 2018. Its ambition
is to demonstrate that by applying optimised farming practices organic farming
can be climate-friendly. SOLMACC has now published their first
newsletter.
Twelve demonstration farms are adjusting their farming techniques under the close supervision and monitoring of agricultural scientists. The project consortium has designed individual practices for each of the twelve farms, starting in autumn 2014. The initial situation in 2014 will be investigated (carbon sequestration, avoidance of CO² emissions) and compared to the results received in 2018. The practices to be applied are on-farm nutrient recycling, crop rotations, reduced tillage and agroforestry. The farms are situated in three different climatic regions and differ in production profiles. What unites all of them is that they are run by innovative and courageous farmers who are highly motivated to contribute to fighting climate change.

Lantbrukarna, AIAB, Bioland Beratung GmbH and FiBL all provide
essential expertise to the project. In a meeting of the project
steering committee of the SOLMACC in Freising, Germany, experiences
and impressions from the first farm visits were shared and demonstrated that
all farmers are highly committed to use their farms for the demonstration of
