MONSANTO: PROTESTA INTERNACIONAL SIMULTÁNEA

A iniciativa del movimiento Norteamericano Occupy , como parte de una protesta ciudadana autónoma, se lanzó la voz de alerta a través de las redes sociales para la organización de la primer manifestación internacional simultánea contra Monsanto el 25 de Mayo (2013). Se han organizado varias decenas de manifestaciones en los EEUU, en Europa y la India.

En Francia existe una notoria oposición a los OGM y la ciudadanía tendrá su propia manifestación en Paris el Sábado 25, habiéndose también organizado otras manifestaciones en Marsella y Estrasburgo frente al Parlamento Europeo.

Según los organizadores, esta manifestación sin características políticas y de reunión espontánea de ciudadanos está abierta a todos aquellos que rechazan a las grandes corporaciones agroalimentarias. El evento tendrá un ambiente festivo y familiar con espectáculos callejeros, músicos y caceroleros.

WORLD WIDE EMONSTRATION AGAINST MONSANTO – May 25, 2013 (from an article in Organic-Market.Info Online Magazine [newsletter@organic-market.info], May 21, 2013)

From an initiative of the North American movement Occupy , as part of a citizens’ autonomous’ protest, the invitation through the social networks was launched to organize the first international simultaneous protest against Monsanto on May 25th, 2013.   Dozens of protests were organized in the USA, Europe and India.

In France there is a notorious opposition to GMOs and the French citizens will have their own protest in Paris on the afternoon of May 25. Other demonstrations will take place in Marseille and Strasburg, in front of the European Parliament.

The organizers say that the event will have no political tag, and it is open to all of those that reject the action of large agrifood corporations. The protest will have a festive and family spirit with street performers, musicians and ‘caceroleros’ (pot banging protesters).
