Por Decreto N° 35064 de la Prefectura de Río de Janeiro del 25 de enero del 2012, se crea el Circuito Carioca de Férias Orgánicas, logro de más de 20 años de lucha de organizaciones ambientalistas y de solidaridad social.

En los considerandos del decreto se expresa el reconocimiento por parte de las autoridades de la ciudad de las necesidades de los ciudadanos cariocas de una mejor calidad de vida, la seguridad alimentaria, la protección del medio ambiente y el desarrollo sustentable, y la necesidad de establecer un mercado estable en el que los pequeños productores rurales  puedan ofrecer sus producciones orgánicas que favorecen el empleo de mano de obra, el fortalecimiento de la agricultura familiar sin utilización de agroquímicos sintéticos.

El Circuito Carioca de Férias Orgánicas será reglamentado en acción conjunta por la Secretaría Especial de Desarrollo Económico (SEDES) y la Secretaría Especial de Orden Público (SEOP).

By the Decree  Nº ° 35064 of the city of Rio de Janeiro Prefecture, on January 25, 2014, the Carioca Circuit of Organic Fairs was created, a success after more than 20 years of fighting by environmental and social organizations.

Among the reasons for its creation can be mentioned: the recognition by the city’s authorities of the needs of food security by the citizens, and of better living conditions, the protection of the environment, the objective of sustainable development, and the need to establish a stable market where the small farmers can offer their Organic productions. The decree mentions the advantages of Organic farming  for the support of family farming, the creation of hand labor, and the defense of the environment avoiding the use of synthetic agrochemicals.

The Carioca Circuit of Organic Fairs will be jointly reglamented by the Special Secretary of Economic Development (SEDES) and the Special Secretary of Public Order (SEOP).
