El 2 de febrero es el Día Mundial de los Humedales, fecha en que se firmó en 1971 el Convenio sobre los Humedales, a orillas del Mar Caspio, en la ciudad iraní de Ramsar. Uno de los principales logros de este Convenio, también llamado Ramsar, ha sido la creación de la lista de humedales de importancia internacional. El tema del Día Mundial de los Humedales para 2012 es "Turismo de humedales: una gran experiencia".

WORLD DAY OF THE WETLANDS  

February 2nd. is the World Day of the Wetlands, date in which the Agreement about the Wetlands was signed in the coastal area of the Caspian Sea, in the Iranian city of Ramsar. One of the main successes of this Agreement, also called Ramsar, was the creation of a list of wetlands of international importance. The sujbect of 2012 World Day of the Wetlands is: “Tourism in the wetlands: a great experience”.
