El 10º Congreso Mundial de Tierras Silvestres WILD10 se celebrará en Salamanca, España, del 4 al 10 de Octubre del 2013 con el impulso de la organización norteamericana sin fines de lucro The Wild Foundation. Así, el evento de conservación con más antigüedad del mundo llega por primera vez a un país de la cuenca mediterránea.
 Esta décima edición, que ha sido presentada este martes a los medios en el Real Jardín Botánico de Madrid (CSIC), presta singular atención a la "extraordinaria recuperación que está experimentando la naturaleza europea en las últimas décadas, causada por la combinación de políticas de protección y restauración, reconocimiento social de su valor ecológico y económico, y el despoblamiento del medio rural", según han explicado los responsables de la iniciativa.
   Asimismo, el programa cuenta con la colaboración de numerosas organizaciones sin ánimo de lucro que avalan esta iniciativa de encuentro y participación en torno a la Naturaleza y su conservación. Por este motivo, el eje conceptual del Congreso será el de 'Una nueva perspectiva de la conservación para Europa' y 'El nacimiento de una nueva Europa', integrado bajo el lema de WILD10 '¡Por un planeta más salvaje!'

The 10th World Congress of Wild Lands WILD10 will take place in Salamanca, Spain, 4-10 Oct., 2013, with the support of the North American NGO The Wild Foundation. Thus, the oldest conservation event in the World arrives for the first time to the Mediterranean basin.
This tenth edition that has been presented to the media last Tuesday in Madrid’s Royal Botanical Garden (CSIC), pays special attention to the “extraordinary recouperation of the European nature in the last few decades, caused by a combination of protection and restoration policies, the recognition of the social, ecologic and economic value, and the depopulation of the rural environment”, as it was explained by the creators of the initiative.
The program counts with the support of numerous NGOs that endorse this meeting and participation around nature and its conservation. The conceptual centerpiece of this congress will be “A new perspective of conservation for Europe” and the “Birth of a new Europe”, integrated under WILD 10’s leit motive “For a more savage planet!”.
