Las
certificadoras ABCERT AG (Esslingen/Alemania), bio.inspecta AG (Frick/ Suiza) e IMOgroup AG(Weinfelden/Suiza)
intentarán establecer una fuerte cooperación estratégica con el objetivo común
de dominar conjuntamente los desafíos del creciente número de requisitos y las
complicaciones de la certificación orgánica y el control de calidad.
Las
tres instituciones se apoyan en años de exitosa experiencia en el campo de la
certificación orgánica: ABCERT AG es el líder del mercado en Alemania y bio
Inspecta AG es el dominante en el mercado Suizo. Con nueve compañías
internacionales independientes y más de 20 oficinas más pequeñas en los países,
IMOgroup AG es una de las instituciones de certificación líderes en el
mundo.
El
número de estándares privados y gubernamentales del mundo crece constantemente
y sus requisitos se hacen más y más complejos. “A fin de realizar un trabajo
excelente es necesario un alto grado de especialización” dice Frank Rumpe, CEO de

Vale la pena subrayar lo que dice el artículo respecto del número
creciente de estándares privados y gubernamentales que hacen que las
certificaciones orgánicas internacionales alcancen niveles inconcebibles de
complejidad.
Las buenas certificadoras internacionales que certifican productos
orgánicos de importación firman acuerdos con certificadoras confiables del país
exportador, cuya calidad de certificación debe ser constantemente evaluada.
Este proceso implica complicaciones no solo para la certificadora del país
importador, sino, y principalmente, para las certificadoras del país exportador
que se ven obligadas a adaptar su proceso de verificación a cada regulación,
estándar y proceso de certificación del mundo.
Tratando de superar en parte este obstáculo es que IFOAM creó la
así llamada Familia IFOAM de Estándares (IFOAM Family of Standards - IFoS) http://www.ifoam.org/en/ifoam-family-standards
cuyos estándares son equivalentes (no idénticos) entre sí. La equivalencia
entre los estándares es determinada sometiéndolos a un análisis por medio de
una matriz conocida como Common Objectives and Requirements of Organic Standards
– COROS (Objetivos y Requisitos Comunes de los Estándares Orgánicos)

sus productos sean certificados según uno de los estándares de la IFoS hacen
que la vida de las certificadoras sea mucho más sencilla.

The certification
bodies ABCERT AG (Esslingen/Germany), bio.inspecta AG (Frick/ Switzer-land)
and IMOgroup
AG(Weinfelden/Switzerland) intend to establish a strong strategic co-operation
with the common objective to jointly master the challenges of rising
requirements and complexity in the business of organic certification and
quality control.
All three
institutions can look back on many years of successful work experience in the
field of organic certification: ABCERT AG is the market leader in Germany and
bio.inspecta AG is the key player in the Swiss market. With its nine
independent international companies and more than 20 smaller country
offices, IMOgroup AG is one of leading certification institutions
worldwide.
The number of private
and governmental standards is constantly increasing, requirements are getting
more complex. "A
high degree of specialization is necessary to be capable of
excellent work", noted Frank Rumpe, CEO of IMOswiss AG. "To enable
this specialisation we decided to consolidate our forces particularly with
regard to our international work".

It is worth underscoring what the article says about the number of privare and
governmental standards that rise international organic certifications to an
unconceivable level of complexity. Good international certification agencies
that certify organic products imported from foreign countries sign agreements
with trusted foreign certifiers whose certification quality is constantly
evaluated. This process entails complications not only for the importing
country’s certifier, but mainly to the export country’s certification agencies
that have to adapt their verification process to each certification regulation,
standards and procedures in the world. Trying to partly overcome this hurdle
IFOAM has created the so called IFOAM Family of Standards (IFoS)- http://www.ifoam.org/en/ifoam-family-standards
whose standards are equivalent to each other (equivalent, not necessarily
identical). The equivalency among standards is determined putting them through
a matrix known as COROS (Common Objectives and Requirements of Organic Standards) http://www.goma-organic.org/tools/coros/
. Importers requiring their organic product to be certified by one of the
standards of the IFoS make certifiers’ life so much simpler. Jorge Casale
