EEUU: COMIENZA LA COSECHA DE PERAS Y MANZANAS
ORGÁNICAS EN CALIFORNIA (de un

Ha comenzado en California la cosecha de manzanas y peras orgánicas.
Como en años anteriores, el comienzo de la cosecha doméstica fue recibido con
una fuerte demanda del mercado orgánico, y los proveedores se esfuerzan por
proveer la fruta orgánica más fresca para este verano (boreal).
"Cuando comienza la temporada de peras en California es siempre un tiempo de gran actividad para productores y su personal”, dice Luis Acuña, presidente de CF Fresh, Inc. “Nuestros clientes disfrutarán este año de hermosas Bartletts orgánicas, sabrosas y jugosas, dado que el clima fue muy favorable”.

El volumen de la cosecha va a ser un poco menor
este año, pero la fruta es más grande, muy limpia y con pocas marcas.
La cosecha de Galas está también empezando en
California. También en este caso los cultivos gozaron de muy buenas condiciones
de crecimiento esta temporada, y se espera que las manzanas sean de excelente
calidad. CF Fresh estima que el volumen de su cosecha 2012 de Galas en
California será un 30% mayor que en 2011, lo que son buenas noticias tanto para
productores como consumidores.

US: CALIFORNIA ORGANIC HARVEST BEGINS

The
organic apple and pear harvest has begun in California. As in past years, the
start of the domestic harvest has been greeted with strong demand from the
organic market, as retailers vie to promote the freshest organic fruit of the
summer.
"When the California pear season rolls around, it is always a hectic, yet exciting time for our growers and their workers," says Luis Acuña, president of CF Fresh, Inc. "Our customers will enjoy beautiful, tasty and juicy organic bartletts this year as the weather has been very favorable for the crop."
The crop volume is down a bit from last season, but the fruit is larger and very clean, with very little scarring. The organic Gala harvest is also just beginning in California. The apple crop has also benefited from the good growing conditions this season, and the apples are expected to be of excellent quality. CF Fresh estimates their 2012 California Gala crop volume will be about 30% larger than the 2011 crop, which is good news for both growers and marketers.
