A través de la instalación de paneles solares el Ministerio de Agricultura de Chila buscará promover el uso de esta energía sustentable en el riego, a través del Programa Nacional de Bombardeo Fotovoltaico.
El organismo detalló que invertirá US$2,2 millones en la instalación de más de 1.000 paneles solares a pequeños agricultores, lo que posicionará al país como un líder dentro de Sudamérica en la masificación del uso de esta fuente renovable para la agricultura familiar. El proyecto generará 255.500 watts de energía para la agricultura a lo largo del país.
Luis Mayor, Ministro de Agricultura de Chile, señaló que con la inauguración de los paneles se está asegurando el recurso hídrico a los agricultores con un considerable ahorro en consumo de energía eléctrica.
“A fines del próximo año queremos haber instalado más de 2 mil paneles solares en la pequeña agricultura”, dijo. De los 1.144 paneles, 940 se instalarán en 374 proyectos de equipos individuales de bombeo y 204 en tres grandes proyectos asociativos de pequeños agricultores, uno de ellos el Proyecto Caimanes.
En septiembre se espera la inauguración del proyecto más grande en Sudamérica en la Región del Maule.

With the installation of solar pannels, Chile’s Ministry of Agriculture will promote the use of this sustainable source of energy for irrigation, as part of the Programa Nacional de Bombardeo Fotovoltaico.
The organism said that they will invest US$ 2.2 million in the installation of more than 1,000 solar pannels for small growers, positioning the country as a leader in South America in the massification of the use of this renewable source in family agriculture. The Project will generate 255,000 Watts of energy for farming throughout the country.
Luis Mayor, Chile’s Minister of Agriculture, pointed out that with the inauguration of the solar pannels the hydric needs of the farmers will be satisfied with considerable savings in the consumption of electric energy.
“By the end of next year we will have installed over 2,000 pannels for small farmers”, said the officer. Of the first 1,440 pannels, 940 will be installed in 374 individual pumping projects, and 204 in three large associative projects of small farmers, one of them the Caimanes Project.
In September we expect the opening of South America’s largest Project in the Maule Region.
