ORGANIC AGRICULTURE FOR PARKS AND GARDENS

IFOAM LAUNCHES THE "IFOAM AMENITY AGRICULTURE ALLIANCE (IAAA)" (IFOAM Insider | N° 6 - June 2012)            VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL MÁS ABAJO.

On May 25, 2012 in Shanghai, China, 55 people attended the launch and signing ceremony of the latest IFOAM self-organized structure, the IFOAM AMENITY AGRICULTURE ALLIANCE (IAAA), which builds the platform for worldwide recreation agriculture. Amenity agriculture covers all the forms of agriculture used for parks, gardens, sporting fields, golf courses, resorts, hotels, road sides and other public areas where plants are grown. People not only want to eat food that is grown without pesticides, they want to be able to walk, play, sit and work in public areas that have not been sprayed with toxic chemicals: for this reason, IAAA has a very important role in promoting methods to manage these areas by using organic practices. The IAAA head office is located in Beijing, China and it has gained the general financial support by the Chinese Government.

IFOAM LANZA LA "IFOAM AMENITY AGRICULTURE ALLIANCE (IAAA)" (IFOAM Insider | N° 6 - Junio 2012)

 El 25 de Mayo ppdo. en Shanghai, China, 55 personas participaron en la ceremonia de lanzamiento de la última estructura auto-organizada de IFOAM, la IFOAM AMENITY AGRICULTURE ALLIANCE (Alianza de Agricultura de Esparcimiento de IFOAM - IAAA), que establece la plataforma para la agricyltura mundial de recreación, la que cubre toda forma de agricultura usada en parques, jardines, campos de deportes, canchas de golf, hoteles, lados de caminos y otras áreas públicas donde sean cultivadas plantas.

La gente no solo quiere comida cultivada sin pesticidas, sino que también quiere poder caminar, jugar, sentarse y trabajar en áreas públicas que no hayan sido fumigadas con materiales tóxicos. Por esta razón, la IAAA tiene un rol muy importante que cumplir en la promoción de métodos de manejo de esas áreas por medio de prácticas orgánicas. La oficina de la IAAA está ubicada en Beijing, China, y recibe el apoyo financiero del Gobierno Chino.
