This Project, that began in May and that will be developed in the Chilean Andes during the next two years, has the objective of developing a water gauging method in the mountinous basins in order to make a more efficient use of water.
The Hispasat group is participating in the 'Intogener' Project, in charge of developing a more precise measuring of water flows in the Andes basins, as it was informed this Thursday by the group that integrates the telecommunictions satelite operations Hispasat and the Brazilian Hispamar, which will allow to establish a virtual network for data transmision between the measuring stations of Chile and Spain.
The initiative is financed 50% by the Integrated Applications Promotion Program (IAP) of the European Spacial Agency (ESA) with the participation of Starlab as Project coordinator, Endesa Chile, the Pontificia Universidad de Chile (PUC) and consultants Future Water, that will provide the other 50% financing of the project.

CHILE: PROYECTO PARA MEDIR LOS FLUJOS DE AGUA EN LAS CUENCAS DE LOS ANDES (de un artículo ENVIADO POR: ECOTICIAS.COM / RED / AGENCIAS, 07/06/2012)
Este proyecto, que se inició en el mes de mayo y se desarrollará en los Andes chilenos durante los próximos dos años, tiene como fin desarrollar un modelo de medición de aguas en las cuencas montañosas que pueda hacer más eficiente su uso.
El grupo Hispasat está participando en el proyecto 'Intogener' que se encarga de desarrollar un sistema de medición más preciso de los flujos de las aguas en las cuencas de los Andes, según ha informado este jueves el grupo que integra los operadores de telecomunicaciones por satélite español Hispasat y brasileño Hispamar  lo que podrá establecer una red virtual privada para la transmisión de datos entre las estaciones de medición de Chile y España.
Esta iniciativa está financiada al 50% por el programa Integrated Applications Promotion (IAP) de la Agencia Espacial Europea (ESA) y cuenta además con la participación de Starlab, como coordinadora del proyecto, Endesa Chile, la Pontificia Universidad de Chile (PUC) y la consultoría Future Water, que aportan el 50% restante del proyecto.
