GROWTH OF THE ORGANIC AGRICULTURE IN PERU.

In an article by Silvia Wú Guin, of the Comité de Consumidores Ecológicos Fernando Alvarado de
la Fuente, Centro IDEAS, in which the author expresses her hopes for a quick reglamentation
of the LAW FOR THE PROMOTION OF THE ORGANIC OR ECOLOGICAL AGRICULTURE, (Law N°
29196), and because of delays in the implementarion of said regulations, the
article says: “We objectively observe that the organic agriculture cotinues its
expansión … more than 60,000 organic certified farmers (to which thousands of
others evaluated through SGP - Participative Guarantee Systems - and many more
that would be adding to these figures if the needed incentives would be
implemented), annual exports for more than US$ 300 million, more than 20
organic consumer fairs at the national level, that every week offer products to
a grateful population that value clean nutrition. Furthermore, there is also an
increasing number of regions and municipalities that support organic farmers
and promote responsible consumption with organic products”.
Amongst the elements to promote, there are the Participative Guarante
Systems, innovative proposal that the Law 29196 recognizes.

CRECIMIENTO DE LA AGRICULTURA ORGÁNICA EN PERÚ
En un artículo de Silvia Wú Guin, Comité de Consumidores Ecológicos Fernando Alvarado de la Fuente, Centro IDEAS, en el que se hacen votos
para una pronta reglamentación de la Ley de PROMOCIÓN DE LA PRODUCCIÓN ORGÁNICA
O ECOLÓGICA (LEY N° 29196), y a raiz de demoras experimentadas en dicha
reglamentación, la autora dice: “Observamos objetivamente que la agricultura
ecológica sigue ganando terreno... más de 60 mil productores ecológicos
certificados (a los que se suman otros miles con garantía-SGP y muchos más que
se convertirían a la producción ecológica con los incentivos necesarios), las
exportaciones por más de 300 millones de dólares anuales, las más de 20 ferias
ecológicas a nivel nacional que semanalmente llevan productos sanos a una
población agradecida que valora una alimentación sana. Igualmente, cada vez más
regiones y municipios apoyando a los productores ecológicos y al consumo
responsable con productos ecológicos”.
Entre los elementos a promover se encuentran los
Sistemas de Garantía Participativa-SGP, una propuesta audaz e innovadora que la
Ley 29196 reconoce
